My Home Hokkaido

It’s been a while
Since I've been
To the place that I grew up in
Took a trip
To find my roots and past me that’s within

The red cranes dance across the snow
This is my home of Hokkaido
The rolling hills that never end
They comfort me, my oldest friend

May be the last to blossom but
Has more beauty than I’ve ever known
The frozen lakes give me a warmth
Of somewhere I don’t feel alone
Can I freeze time in this moment
And wish on all the stars
To keep this island in my heart
