Rediscovery of the Future

For Hatsune Miku's 20th anniversary, I wanted to make a design that not only felt like Miku, but also felt like a return to form in a similar fashion as the recent Hatsune Miku V6 release. However, rather than taking influence from her original art, I also wanted to incorporate elements from Hatsune Miku Append. Append is such a stand out design, no previous incarnation fully encapsulates the etherial, expressive, and mysterious qualities of it. Much like the key to fully realizing Hatsune Miku V6 was her past, I wanted to capture that as well with this design, but instead, capture the allure of an exciting future. Additionally, I wanted to ensure that while the design was detailed, I wanted to retain some form of simplicity so that anyone could draw it and even add their own details if they so wished. Hatsune Miku means a lot to me and my life's journey, and to me this design captures not only that, but the heart of creativity and Hatsune Miku.
