Hatsune Miku in NYC!

This is my entry for the "Hatsune Miku U.S. Version" contest. My illustration portrays Miku as "larger than life" as she is standing on the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. Her outfit is a modern U.S. sundress accented with blue neon lights at the ends of her skirt, the side bow, and shoulder straps. Her leggins have top and side patterns that are similar to her waist key-chain as seen on her old outfit. At the same time, she is wearing stylized U.S. boots that are also outfitted with blue neon lights. Miku's standard hair clips were replaced with new hair clips that are also attached to the bottom of her pigtails. Finally, to maintain her status as a product I kept the original "01" mark on her arm but added a serial bar code underneath it to better express that. I feel that my illustration of Miku can resonate with the modern U.S. audience and maintain her original characteristics that made her big in Japan.
